As climate and rainfall variability increases, reservoir water level information is critical for a wide range of applications ranging from farm management and irrigation optimization to economic forecasting. We have developed innovative methods for satellite based monitoring of large reservoirs around the world.

As a first step, our reservoir monitoring dataset will focus on India, where regular updates on water level data is currently available for less than 150 of the largest reservoirs. Our dataset will extend this to the several thousand large dams across India in the coming months.
